Germany was the main exporter of ball and roller bearings in the European Union, with a supply volume of 200,000 tonnes, almost 30% of total exports in 2021. France (76,000 tonnes) occupied the second position in the ranking, followed by Italy (74K tons), the Netherlands (48K tons), Poland (43K tons), Romania (43K tons), Austria (35K tons) and Slovakia ( 34K tons). All these countries together held nearly 52% of total supplies.
In terms of value, Germany ($4.7 billion) remains the largest supplier of bearings to the European Union, accounting for 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by France (1.5 billion dollars), with a share of 13% of total supplies. It was followed by Italy, with a share of 9.9%.
In Germany, bearing exports increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period 2007-2021. The other exporting countries recorded the following average annual export growth rates: France (-1.6% per year) and Italy (+0.1% per year).

By value, Germany ($3.4 billion) accounted for 33% of total bearing imports. The second position in the ranking is occupied by Italy (1 billion dollars), with a share of 10% of total purchases. It was followed by France, with a share of 10%.
In Germany, imports of bearings increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period 2007-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates are as follows: Italy (-1.1% per year) and France (-0.1% per year).

The import price of bearings in the European Union was $13,781 per ton in 2021, stabilizing compared to the previous year. Prices varied significantly depending on the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($17,588 per ton), while Spain ($9,934 per ton) was among the lowest.
